1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information to operate and improve the VDate service:
- Information from Google Identity Services during login: name, email address, Google ID, and profile picture.
- The Google-provided “sub” identifier for authentication.
- Subscription and purchase information from Google Play, such as purchase tokens, plan type, and renewal data.
- Required profile information you provide: name, age, gender, photos, manually entered location, address, latitude, longitude, and required scheduling preferences.
- User-generated content such as likes, matches, reports, and meeting outcomes.
- Device and technical information collected automatically for security and functionality.
- Logs related to app usage and safety events.
- Matching settings such as minimum and maximum age, preferred gender of other users, and distance radius based on your manually entered location.
We do not collect your location from GPS or background services. All location data is manually entered by the user.
2. Lawful Basis for Processing
We process your personal data under the following lawful bases:
- Contract performance: All required profile information, including name, age, gender, photos, manually entered location, and scheduling preferences, is necessary to create your profile, enable matching, schedule meetings, and operate the VDate service.
- Legitimate interest: Used for fraud prevention, safety measures, enforcing community guidelines, and improving the platform.
- Legal obligation: Processing required to comply with applicable laws or legal requests.
We do not rely on consent for any mandatory profile information because all required fields are essential to provide the VDate service.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To create and maintain your VDate profile.
- To authenticate you using Google Identity Services.
- To match you with other users and manage your interactions.
- To schedule and manage video calls between users.
- To process and validate subscriptions through Google Play.
- To maintain safety and enforce community guidelines.
- To operate automated decision-making systems for account termination or match deletion.
- To enhance, secure, and monitor the performance of VDate.
- To use your matching settings, such as age range, preferred gender, and distance radius, to filter and display relevant profiles.

5. Video Calls
Video calls inside VDate are peer-to-peer (P2P) when STUN is used, or securely relayed via TURN servers if required. We do not record, store, or monitor video call content. Calls are private between participants.
6. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
We use automated decision-making to maintain safety:
- Automatic account termination: If a user receives three (3) severe reports from different users, such as criminal activity, explicit nudity, or harassment, their account may be automatically terminated by a CRON job.
- Automatic match removal: If a meeting outcome is not provided within 10 hours or a user repeatedly does not attend scheduled meetings, the match may be automatically removed by a CRON job.
These automated processes exist to ensure safety and platform integrity.

7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security practices, including:
- Secure storage of authentication tokens.
- Encryption of sensitive data during transmission and storage.
- Access controls and security monitoring.
- Regular security updates and audits.
- Automated daily database backups via CRON at midnight UTC for disaster recovery.
- Backup rotation to ensure old data is automatically overwritten.
8. Data Retention
Data is retained as follows:
- Account data: retained until you delete your account.
- Logs: retained for 12 months.
- Backups: stored for 30 days and overwritten automatically by rotation and daily CRON backup cycles.
- Legal retention: certain data may be kept as required by law.
When you delete your account, your data is immediately removed from active systems and will disappear from backups once those backups are overwritten during normal rotation cycles.
9. Third-Party Services and International Transfers
We rely on third-party services including Google Identity Services and Google Play. These providers may process data outside the European Union (EU).
We do not provide these services with your personal data beyond what is necessary for authentication, subscriptions, or app distribution.
These providers operate under their own privacy policies and may independently collect device or analytics information. We use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for international data transfers.

If a data breach poses a risk to your rights or freedoms, we will notify you and relevant supervisory authorities as required by law.

13. Sharing and Selling of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising, marketing, or commercial benefit.
We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined under US state privacy laws including the CCPA/CPRA.
Your data may only be shared when required by law or when necessary to protect your safety or the safety of others.
14. Children's Privacy
VDate is intended only for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available in the app. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
